Air Oil Separator (AOS) - 2022 Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR86

Overview

This air oil separator keeps oil vapor from the crankcase out of the intake tract. Oil reaching the intake lowers effective octane, which can cause detonation, reduced power and carbon deposits. To strip it from the crankcase air, the unit uses internal baffling, stainless mesh and four 5 micron coalescing filters, one at each inlet and outlet.

The body is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized, laser engraved and made in the U.S.A., with mil-spec O-ring bosses. The bottom of the can accepts a Subaru Fumoto drain valve for easy draining, and Verus Engineering offers optional drain-back and coolant add-on kits. Heat in the engine bay may cause the anodized finish to fade with time.
