Overview
This ducktail spoiler for the 2013-2021 BRZ, FRS and GT86 was drawn in NX with G3 surface continuity and tested with CFD in OpenFOAM. It raises the high-pressure zone on the trunk to increase rear downforce at speed without a significant drag penalty, which suits naturally aspirated cars where drag matters. It covers the OE spoiler holes and is designed from scan data.
The spoiler is 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon fiber from a billet aluminum mold, with a gloss, UV-resistant automotive clear coat. 3M VHB double-sided tape secures it. It can be combined with the Verus high-efficiency rear wing for more rear downforce.
