Overview
The V1X swan neck rear wing is a bolt-on carbon fiber wing for the G82 BMW M4 that adds a large amount of rear downforce, builds confidence on track, and helps cut lap times. Its larger size than the UCW element allows more downforce, and at 2 degrees of attack it out-produces the swan neck UCW at 12 degrees. The airfoil was refined with ANSYS adjoint analysis, CFD, and wind tunnel testing, with scan data giving a near-OEM fit.
The wing is 2x2 twill pre-preg carbon, autoclave cured with a high-gloss clear finish, and uses a 6061-T6 mounting kit machined in-house. Stainless hardware and templates are included, and it can balance a significant front splitter.
